Lotus Domino implementation and customization-mobility solutions

Today, the use of technologies such as e-mail, WAP, GPRS, calendar, etc via mobile devices (phones, PDAS) is common. The scope of these technologies is distributed by the "entertainment" at the business level.
IBM offers a line of decisions based on Lotus Notes/Domino for mobile users and wireless devices, PIM (personal Office) or e-mail to the online client, Domino data.The product line is developing rapidly to changes in names and brands in these days there are mentioned in the following areas:
o e-mail and PIM Synchronization between PDA and Domino;
o access Domino through CPC;
o Online PDA client for Domino data;
o SMS and SameTime wireless devices.
Now to solve the first problem IBM actively promotes product IBM WebSphere Everyplace access. In this article we will focus on the Red Book (sg246676. pdf) documentation.
WebSphere Everyplace access can be used to synchronize PIM and e-mail, PDA and Domino. Product includes Everyplace sync server (ES), which enables synchronization. ESS is a special adapter running in WebSphere Portal Server, allowing you to securely connect to server from Domino 5.0.12 to 6.5.1.version AS the mobile client for ESS can be used by IBM and native SyncML client Everyplace clients, for example on PocketPC can work with e-mail and PIM Domino via inbuilt browser as specially installed Everyplace client. Everyplace client has a version for the PocketPC, Palm OS.
IBM WebSphere Everyplace access can be used not only for CPC and Domino relayed back and forth, it can also synchronize:
o PIM and e-mail between Pocket PC and MS Exchange Server (versions 5, 2000 and 2003);
o DB2 and PDAs.In this case involves two components: the DB2 Everyplace sync server and DB2 Everyplace database, which work on your PDA;
o Oracle and PDAs.
From an earlier version of IBM may be practically used by author, noted the following:
o EasySync Pro and IBM Mobile Connect assigned to synchronize PIM and e-mail between CPC and Domino. IBM Mobile Connect works on server side and client-side EasySync Pro;
o Domino Everyplace access and Domino Everyplace Enterprise first allows access to specially designed Domino applications via WAP second Museum back end offers a client who has similar functions without using the WAP browser.
o Sametime Everyplace and Domino Everyplace SMS first allows you to have access to Sametime via WAP browser: the second one is a gateway for bi-directional transformations between SMS and Domino email.
It should be noted here that the Domino Designer version 6 has a special option to "hide" for mobile devices, this solution allows not to transmit on the mobile device side some elements of the three-dimensional design (e.g. inbuilt views, sections etc.).
As summaries-IBM'S focus on mobile devices and sees serious potential market segments that are connected in that direction.
